FEWER THAN 900 MOUNTAIN GORILLAS REMAIN

One of the world’s strongest and mightiest creatures has become one of the most vulnerable. Despite the ongoing successes in our work to protect Africa's mountain gorillas, their numbers are perilously low. Your support could help us to protect the gorillas in their natural habitat and enable their numbers rise. Please donate today to help save the mountain gorilla.

Where We Work

Asia Pacific & Australasia

The Asia-Pacific region is home to some of the planet’s most iconic species, such as the orang-utan and Asian elephant. FFI is working to conserve species and habitats from the frozen highlands of the Tibetan Plateau to the tropical rainforests of Indonesia.

Africa & Madagascar

Africa’s wild places face a myriad of increasing threats. Working in several post-conflict countries in Africa, FFI is continuing to help rebuild and reinforce conservation capacity by working with organizations and communities from national to village leve

Americas & Carribbean

Latin America and the Carribbean contain a huge proportion of the world’s biodiversity, with unparalleled numbers of unique species. This region is also experiencing severe loss of habitat and species, which FFI is tackling through local partnerships and restoration programs.

Eurasia

Eurasia’s landscapes are recognised worldwide for their beauty and wilderness value, yet the importance of their biodiversity is frequently overlooked. Fauna & Flora International (FFI) is one of only a few international organisations working in the region and is helping to raise awareness of the need for conservation.

Jargon Buster: Ecosystem Services

In the spirit of clear communication, we are starting a series of jargon buster blog posts, which aim to demystify some of the more obscure terms used by the conservation community. In this second instalment, Kristi Foster explains just what we mean by ‘ecosystem services’.
